SNAC International commends the U.S. House of Representatives for passing legislation yesterday to avert a rail strike and urges the Senate to follow. “We are pleased to see the House exercise leadership and take affirmative action to avoid a national rail shutdown. In the coming days, the Senate is slated to consider the legislation that passed the House yesterday, which would effectively ratify a rail labor union deal. SNAC International joined over 200 agricultural and food organizations in a letter to Congress urging lawmakers to adopt the Tentative Agreement to avert a rail shutdown.
