The Legislative Summit is SNAC International’s annual opportunity for members to visit Washington to meet with Members of Congress to discuss the industry’s key issues and how legislative policy affects their business. SNAC facilitates meetings with Senators and Representatives, and all first-time attendees are accompanied by a member of the SNAC staff. SNAC also provides thorough briefings in advance to ensure attendees are prepared to discuss the industry’s most pressing issues.
This event is FREE for SNAC International Members | $500 each for non members.
The 2022 Legislative Summit did not disappoint. Over 40 snack industry leaders headed to Capitol Hill to participate in over 60 meetings with Members of Congress. SNAC members discussed priority issues with legislators, including prioritizing America’s workforce, addressing supply chain challenges, ensuring SNAP choice, and addressing sodium reduction. SNAC’s Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee also met as a part of the Legislative Summit. Thank you to everyone who attended to discuss these key issues within our industry.
SNAC’s Government Affairs Committee met with Rod Snyder, Senior Agriculture Advisor to the Administrator at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The group’s discussion centered around the recently released renewable volume obligations (RVOs) for the Renewable Fuel Standard, the EPA’s recycling efforts, and how snack companies should be thinking about environmental social governance.
SnackPAC donors gathered for the annual SnackPAC Appreciation Dinner at Legislative Summit. The dinner featured Mo Elleithee, founding Executive Director of Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service. Elleithee provided expert insights on the events shaping the current American political landscape and how both sides of the aisle can come together to strengthen our country’s political system.
